FAQ
When are you going to open?
Good question! A bunch of stuff needs to happen first, such as floor reinforcement [beer is heavy, despite all the bubbles], licensing, permits, interior buildout, etc.
As of right now we’re aiming for October 10, 2025.
why all the delays?
The main delay was zoning. Our spot in Mackenzie village was not zoned for a brewery, so we had to get that changed. How hard could that be? lol - so hard. We had hoped to slide the zoning change in as part of the provincially mandated citywide zoning update, but that didn’t happen because of… reasons. Our zoning amendment had to wait until after the citywide zoning update that was originally scheduled to be done in January 2025, but the update got pushed to late April, so the amendment approval got pushed to May 2025. At the May meeting, CoR council decided that a public consultation was needed, which pushed things into June. Feedback from the public consultation was overwhelmingly positive, and Council approved the zoning change on June 24. Zoning is life*.
other than zoning, any delays are due entirely to our lack of experience with starting a brick-and-mortar business from scratch. so, mea culpa.
*which begs the question, why didn’t we choose a location with the correct zoning already in place? Well, Revelstoke has a commercial vacancy rate of less than 1%, and over the last year we have seen exactly 1 rental property that might have worked for our needs, and it was actually a bit on the big side for what we were comfortable with.
what kind of beer will you have?
So far, the tap list is looking like this:
Blonde Ale
Italian Pilsner
Dark Mild
Pale Ale
IPA
HAZY
Porter
Seltzer
Radler
Kombucha [non-alc]
Red wine
White Wine
Gluten-free Beer
Things are going to evolve as we get to know our guests’ preferences. We’re confident you’ll find something you like.
will there be food?
yes, we will have a selection of food available. However, we’re not big enough to have a full kitchen set up, so we’re looking at dogs, pretzels, samosas, etc.
is outside food allowed?
yes! You can bring in pretty much whatever you want. sandwiches from little spoon, having a pizza delivered to the taproom, a bag of chips from summit market are all fair game. hell, if you want to cook something at home and bring it to the taproom for dinner, please do!
are outside drinks allowed?
nope. we’ll have alcoholic, non-alcoholic, and gluten-free beverages for sale. filtered water is free.
Dogs on the patio?
Conditional yes - we’re going to try and make it happen, but it depends on what our liquor license allows.
